MTC HUMP DAY

This week was a little different because the older people in out branch (the Hungarians) left on Monday. That meant that just us 12 Finns were in the branch! And yesterday we got 24 new missionaries that came into our branch going to Hungary, Albania and Estonia. So now we are the "older" people!! As a sister training leader me and my companions had to show them all around and make sure they were taken care of. It is weird having that responsibility when I have only been here for a month... But it definitely helps to have more people to serve because it keeps my mind off of how badly I want to leave this place! I am growing closer and closer to my 2 companions and they are AWESOME. So hard working and obedient and we work so well together during lessons and everything. And we have so much fun together too!

Definitely a tender mercy from the Lord that I don't have to try and get along with my companions while at the MTC. That would make this a lot harder! I can't believe it has already been about a month... Time really does fly by here!! Sometimes I feel like I just left yesterday.... Tomorrow will be our official half way point through the MTC! yay!! Haha I don't mind it here but I am so ready to get out in the field and work hard to bring people closer to Christ. This time is good though because I have A LOT to learn... Love you all!!  Moi moi!!

MTC WEEK 3

Perheni,

Well.... all good things and all the same things!

This week was good, I felt so calm and collected with everything! Me and my comps were just called as Sister Training Leaders for the new people that will be coming into our branch next week. The hungarians are leaving and 25 new people are going to be with us on wednesday! Crazy! But it will be good to be able to have the opportunity to really help out some of the new sisters. I love being able to learn so much here and hopefully I will learn as much as I can before getting out in the field! Finnish is coming along, I really don't worry about it now as
much as I should haha...

I am super grateful for the Sisters and Elders I work with and I love being a part of this missionary work. It is amazing what you can get through when you trust in God.  I honestly apologize for never having much to report, I had hoped I would be a little more exciting for you people... so sorry but thank you for being awesome!!
I love hearing from you!!!

Serving with Great People

Perheni!!

The MTC is surprisingly still just the MTC!  I honestly have no idea what to report today... Everything is going well, I can see how this gets quite tiring after a few weeks though.  It is weird to think that all the english speakers who came it at the same time as me are already gone! lucky them!  I still have a lot of stuff to learn and practice.

First things first, thanks mom for the amazing jacket, watch and perfume! Church is true! And that jacket keeps in heat like no other!

So far the language and study is coming along. I learn so much every week about how amazing this gospel is and about how essential the Spirit is in conversion. It definitely is awesome. Sometimes reality hits me and I freak out that I am here but I know I need to push forward day by day..by day...by day! :)

I am grateful for such good companions and all the other Finnish missionaries, we all get along so well! We all have our own strong reason for being here because lets be honest, with a language like Finnish if you didn't have a real reason for being here you would have left before the first week!!

I miss you guys so much!! I love getting your letters and emails about the family and am super stoked about Nate's baptism!

Sorry I don't have much more to report. The days all blend together here!

I love you guys so so so much!!!!

Terra's First P-DAY

Moi Perhe!!!

This is MY P-day. Like, I am the person on the other end of this. Pretty cool!!! And crazy!

Well, it has been a busy week. I understand when people have said that a lot happens and yet nothing at all. The first few days were hectic with barely any time to unpack! Just moving from one place to another to your bed at night. Good news, so far even though I wake up at 6:30 or earlier every day, I have not been too tired! The Lord definitely works miracles!! I have seen and learned so much just this last week.

You are thrown into the language right away which for me was not hard at all! I am beyond grateful that I took that Finnish class before coming here because everyone else understandably gets super frustrated with the language while I just work hard already knowing how awful it is haha. So taking that class has been a HUGE blessing. We teach in Finnish everyday which is complicated but a good challenge!

Here is a fun fact for you that I didn't know was gonna happen: On Tuesday me and the sisters that I room with (I room with 4 other sisters, we make up the Finnish sisters in the MTC-I will send Pictures if possible) woke up at 3am to catch a flight to Los Angeles! Yes, that is right, we spent a day in California. Apparently Finnish visa stuff is super strict so we needed to hand sign something and get finger printed. It was a long day but it was filled with warm weather and we were able to go walk around the L.A temple! Super pretty! It is interesting being a missionary in the real world, everyone looks at you... And I kid you not, I totally saw Claire from the Bachleor in the LA airport, and I was too afraid to talk to her! Haha

I have learned something very important this week! The Spirit is EVERYTHING. It teaches the lessons and it brings people to Christ. And because of that, I need to work hard and be a perfect vessel for the Spirit to work through. That is why I absolutely love when we get time to study the scriptures on our own. I always feel the spirit and I am able to strengthen my own testimony so I can get through the day. My companions and my district (all the Finns) are super awesome and I am so grateful for that!

I love you all so much! Thank you thank you for the letters and emails! Keep them coming!  Being a missionary is awesome, the church is so true! I love every minute I am able to feel God's love.

Till next week!

Love,

Terra
